His focus has been on advanced reproductive age, low ovarian reserve and third-party reproduction. Dr. Kushnir works closely with urologists to treat couples with severe male factor infertility.
Dr. Kushnir has been a recipient of numerous awards, including NY Top Doctors award recognizing his achievements in clinical practice, and the Excellence in Research award at Emory University recognizing his research on the role of mitochondria in female reproductive aging.
Experience
An internationally recognized fertility specialist, Dr. Kushnir has authored over 85 peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading medical journals and many book chapters on topics in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Kushnir serves as Associate Professor of OBGYN at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and holds hospital admitting privileges at UCI Medical Center.
Prior to relocating to California, Dr. Kushnir practiced in New York City. He served as the Director of Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and as an attending physician at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he performed surgery. Dr. Kushnir also previously served as clinical Assistant Professor of OBGYN at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. He previously served as a consultant for the Division of Reproductive Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Kushnir is dual board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
